 about our team

"I would strongly recommend the architectural services of Michael Hackley Architects. During the last six years, he and his firm have presented their architectural designs for our memorial. As the needs of the memorial changed, so did his perspectives on the design. Michael and his staff have been professional and their work has been impeccable."

David H. Muhl
Founder and Sergeant Maryland Fallen Police and Correctional Officers Memorial, Incorporated.

Michael is a retired firefighter, EMT-B and has a long history of fire station design, including Tacoma Park and Brooklyn Park. He brings the focus and rigor needed to design such complex facilities to all the firm's projects. Michael is an effective communicator and believes in a hands on approach to project delivery.

David began his career in the early 1980's in southern China just as that country's building boom began. He has worked on projects as diverse as a 2 million square foot university in Kazakhstan to the design of Washington, DC's emergency psychiatric facility (C.P.E.P.) and Unity Healthcare. His experience also spans workplace, retail, food service and historic preservation.

Ruben's extensive experience in medical planning and design has provided him with a much sought after depth of expertise in the healthcare arena. He is comfortable with the challenges of delivering superlative design within the context of new-build, historic structures or with LEED compliance.

Mark has over 30 years experience with a broad range of projects including Baltimore Zoo's aviary House, Baltimore Inner Harbor Pier 5, medical facilities, office buildings, churches, historic preservation and residential design.
